Iron Chain Wholesale Supplier

Iron chain is a chain product made of iron as the main material, which is made by connecting multiple iron rings through forging, welding and other processes. It has a strong structure and strong load-bearing capacity, and is widely used in lifting, bundling, traction and other scenes. In daily life, it is also commonly used in guardrail protection, pet restraint and other purposes. However, iron chain is easy to rust and needs regular maintenance to extend its service life.

What is the Difference Between an Iron Chain and a Lifting Chain?

Use: Iron chains have a wide range of uses, including but not limited to daily and general industrial scenarios such as bundling, traction, guardrail protection, pet restraint, etc. Lifting chains are mainly used in lifting machinery, specifically for lifting and lowering heavy objects, and have extremely high requirements for safety and reliability.

Material: Iron chains are usually made of ordinary iron and have a lower cost. Lifting chains are mostly made of high-quality carbon steel or alloy steel, which have higher strength, toughness and wear resistance, and can withstand greater tension and impact.

Manufacturing process: The manufacturing process of iron chains is relatively simple, and the accuracy and quality control requirements of chain links are relatively low. The manufacturing process of lifting chains is complex, and there are strict requirements on the dimensional accuracy, surface quality and mechanical properties of chain links. They must undergo strict heat treatment and flaw detection processes to ensure that each link meets safety standards.

Carrying capacity: The carrying capacity of iron chains is relatively low, and generally can withstand a certain limit of tension according to their specifications and materials. Lifting chains have clear and high rated carrying capacities according to different models and specifications, which can meet various lifting needs of different weights.

What is the Production Process of Iron Chains?

1. Raw material selection: According to the use scenario and performance requirements of the iron chain, select suitable ferroalloy materials, such as Q235 steel, etc., which are usually purchased in the form of hot-rolled round steel or wire rod.

2. Wire drawing: The round steel or wire rod is drawn through a wire drawing machine to reduce its diameter to meet the wire specifications required for the chain ring, while improving the strength and toughness of the material.

3. Ring making: The wire is processed into chain rings by stamping or ring bending. Stamping is to use a punch and a die to punch the wire into a chain ring of a specific shape; ring bending is to bend the wire into a ring by a ring bending machine, and then weld or rivet it closed.

4. Welding or riveting: For chain rings that are welded and closed, the welding parameters must be controlled to ensure that the weld is firm and smooth, without defects such as false welding and leaking welding; riveting requires ensuring that the rivets are firm so that the chain rings are tightly connected.

5. Surface treatment: Common treatment methods include galvanizing and painting to improve the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of the iron chain and extend its service life.

6. Quality inspection: Carry out appearance inspection, dimensional accuracy measurement, tensile test, etc. on the iron chain to ensure that the iron chain meets relevant standards and customer requirements.
